Our White Farmhouse Kitchen Reveal Is Here- BEFORE and AFTER photos!

Kitchen Before & After Reveal
It’s finally here. The BEFORE and AFTER photos from our white farmhouse kitchen renovation. We decided to overhaul our kitchen before moving into our new home. I’m super excited to show you how my vision came to life. I gotta say, I’m extremely happy with how it turned out!
Prior to moving in, the kitchen had medium wood cabinets with silver hardware, black granite countertops, a teal pendant light and NO backsplash at all.

Welp, we changed ALL that. We opted for a bright and clean grey and white aesthetic with wood, gold and black accents.

As you can see, we’ve made quite the change. I couldn’t be happier about it!
We installed white quartz countertops, painted the walls from grey to white, refaced the cabinets in a very light gray tone, switched out the hardware, installed a new sink and faucet, refinished the hardwood floors and added a new pendant light. It was a lot!

We worked with Kitchen Tune-Up to reface the cabinets and install the backsplash. I highly recommend the Denver team led by Katie Smith, she was delightful to work with.

The rest of the process was a bit traumatizing in terms of coordinating workers and getting tasks done properly. So because of that, I’m going to detail below where I got everything and who I had do the work. (NOTE: I’m only going to list it below if I recommend it.)
- Cabinet Refacing and backsplash: Kitchen Tune-Up Denver– Katie Smith ksmith@kitchentuneup.com
- Cabinet Hardware: “Boulevard” collection from Pottery Barn
- Floating shelves: my fiance Lockie made them (!) and I stained them in “Golden Oak” color from Minwax
- Wall paint color: Snowbound by Sherwin Williams
- Backsplash: Meringue Matte White Ceramic Subway Tile from Floor & Decor
- Sink: Singranit “Precis” Single Bowl in white by Blanco
- Faucet: Trinsic Touch 20 by Delta in Champagne Bronze (Kitchen Tune-Up ordered for me through Rampart).

Thinking about getting the carrara morro quartz. Do you love it? Wanting to use it for the backsplash too. Do you think it has enough variation to look good and not monotonous?
Hi Alecia,
Thanks for asking. I do love it and I like that the gray veins are not too light and not too dark. To answer your question, YES, I do think the design has a lot of variation. Personally, I don’t notice any repetition in the design. Here’s more details on why I chose Morro: https://mistykingma.com/why-i-chose-quartz-countertops/
Redoing our kitchen and loving yours! What color did you do the cabinets? And what color is the grout for the backsplash?
Hi Amanda,
The grout color we used was Mapei Keracolor’s “Silver” color. It was a bit too dark for my taste. I would recommend a shade lighter.
The cabinets are a maple shaker door in light gray and were ordered and installed by Kitchen Tune Up in Denver. I didn’t paint them so unfortunately I don’t have the exact paint color.
Hope this helps!
