I finally did it. I picked out my new kitchen hardware. But that was just the beginning of my cabinet knob saga. Let me start at the beginning…here’s everything you need to know about Pottery Barn’s Brass “Boulevard” Knobs and Pulls.
I knew I wanted gold knobs and pulls for my new light gray kitchen cabinets. I’ve been a gold gal for some time now, so the metal was an easy choice for me. I also knew I wanted to pair it with a matching gold faucet and pendant light.
As for style of knob and pull… I had an idea. For pulls I wanted a simple circular knob that would stand the test of time. Something I wouldn’t get bored of. And for pulls, I wanted something a little retro like a shell shape. I looked at TONS of options online and I had really hard time finding something that would match my Delta faucet.
What I considered when picking a gold pull…
- Shade of gold- I wanted a deeper gold, not a bright yellow.
- Does it match my Delta faucet? My faucet is a darker gold with a bronze hue, which works with my desired shade of gold!
- Is it a good size for the drawers- Do the pulls look too small on the drawer face? Or too large? I decided that they needed to be at least 4 inches wide and at least 1.5 inches high.
My Choice!
After ordering at least 8 samples I finally picked a pull. I decided to go with Pottery Barn’s 4 inch “Boulevard” Brass Pull. It’s a stunning color and the shape is aesthetically pleasing- a little old school and a little modern! I was also confident that the color would pair nicely with my faucet.
I decided to pair the pull with whatever knob came in the “Boulevard” collection, to ensure that my knobs and pulls would match.
Easy, right? Not so much. I assumed since it was Pottery Barn that the hardware would be of high quality. Not so much. I ordered 23 knobs and 14 pulls for my kitchen renovation and most of the hardware arrived damaged. Large knicks, dings, and scrapes all over the hardware. The box was not packed very well so I assumed that the hardware damaged during the shipping process. So I complained, returned all the damaged ones and got a replacement order. And that delivery had the same issue. Nope, the sage isn’t over yet. I called to get a replacement and they send me only 1 knob and 1 pull. Sheesh. I called again to try to get the correct replacement order… and I’m still waiting.
I love this hardware but I’m afraid that the quality just isn’t there. I do expect to have to replace them in a couple of years due to damage from normal wear and tear. I’ll enjoy them for now. :)

Hi! The Boulevard is no longer available and trying to match to a Delta faucet – I see all of PB’s current pulls are either brass or tumbled brass – which color are yours? Thanks!

That’s a great question. I looked back at my order confirmations from Pottery Barn and they say “Brass”. However, in looking at their website my hardware looks more like their Tumbled Brass because it’s not very yellow, it’s more orange. I wonder if they’ve changed their terminology? I don’t remember seeing the two options when I ordered these in 2019. I hope that’s helpful!

Great question. The pulls have held up very well. And I do like the knobs that match. But I will note that the knobs that get the most use (for example, the cups and plates cabinets) are starting to see a little bit of wear on them. It probably isn’t noticeably to anyone but me but I thought I would mention that.
Hey Mike! So glad you found this post useful. I did NOT use the screws that came with my 4″ pulls. Reason being is that they did not match and were too long. I used gold screws purchased from Home Depot that matched the handle better. The new screws were also shorter than the ones that came with the pulls which is what I needed for my shaker doors. I didn’t want the screws to go through the whole drawer if that makes sense.

I am SOOOOOOO happy I found you! Thank you for making this post. I just got my samples of the same hardware. Stunning and nothing else like it for the price. Nicks and scratches in every piece. Intentional? Poor castings?
A bigger problem I am finding is that my pulls (4″ and 6″) came with 2 short screws that attach to the face of the cabinet. Typically cabient hardware attaches through the door and drawer and sandwiches the wood with small bolts. These screws will not hold this hardware long term especially in an MDF door. Did yours come with screws and how are they holding up? Your kitchen is gorgeous!! -Mike
