Our Unique Pregnancy Announcement

We had to! It wouldn’t be us if Lockie and I posted a run-of-the-mill pregnancy announcement on social media. We HAD to add some unique flair of our own when announcing such exciting news as this! Luckily, Lockie was just as into getting creative as I was. We decided to come up with a quirky way to announce that I was pregnant. Here’s our unique pregnancy announcement!

Honestly, I can’t even remember whose idea it was… Lockie’s or mine?! All I can remember is it was early on in the first trimester and we were sitting on the couch talking about fun ways to reveal that I was pregnant. Naturally, I wanted to wear cute “Mom” and “Dad” baseball hats or pose with gold “BABY” balloons. Lockie wanted to do something more out of the box. We came up with the idea of dressing up like a bun in the oven and a chef. Perfect.

Turns out Lockie was totally serious about the idea. (SCORE.) All I had to do was order the stuff online! (We’re in the middle of a pandemic here.) I ordered the cutest “oven” costume for myself that I could find and it even came with a little fake little loaf inside. Then I bought a white chef apron and matching hat on Amazon for Lockie to wear.

The rest is history. I was planning on setting up my DSLR and tripod in the front yard and have us take some timed photos. But coincidentally I had a good friend in town and she was able to take the photos for us instead.

I absolutely love how these turned out! I’m not sure if other people think they are quite as LOLworthy AND Millennial as I think they are…but they represent us perfectly and that’s all that really matters, right?
