What it’s like going to a goop #ingoophealth event?

Officially Goopy
It happened… I’m officially goopy. I went to goop’s 8th #ingoophealth event on Saturday in San Francisco. The goop team finally brought their day-long wellness summit to California. So what’s it like going to a goop #ingoophealth event? Let’s see.

Huh?
goop is Gwyneth Paltrow’s uber-successful lifestyle brand that does everything from content, beauty products and (duh) events. This high-end wellness retreat takes place from 8am to 7pm and is filled with inspiring talks, beauty trials, futuristic wellness trends and an epic gift bag for all attendees. Nope, this event isn’t cheap. It starts at about $1,000 per person. (No, I did not pay that amount! I was given the opportunity to go for social media purposes.)

Legit.
I gotta say, I’m now drinking the kool-aid. (Probably should use a different word here… GP probably cringes at the thought of kool-aid!) In other words, I understand the hype. A day filled with no-judgment pampering, free B12 shots, delicious healthy bites? What self-respecting millennial would say no to that?!

What I loved the most about the event was the immediate closeness you felt with every attendee. Like you were part of a secret club, and everyone is there to lift each other up. It was easy to make friends and strike up conversations with strangers.

Even better, GP was there to deliver the morning chat and the evening closing words. She seemed casual and unrehearsed. GP even played reporter and interviewed some of the day’s special guests. Other celebs filled the talking slots, such as Sophia Bush who talked about using her platform for good.

One thing
I thought it would be appropriate to share at least one example of one of the wellness trends that I demoed at the event. Behold: VIE HEALING’S Ear Seeds. I literally had no idea what this would be. It turns out that these are 24 carat gold plated dots that you can place on different parts of your ear to stimulate reflex centers of the brain and nourish the body. You keep these “seeds” on your ear for 2-7 days. I gotta say, they are kinda cute. I don’t mind the look of them at all! And I can’t feel them on my ear.

The point
Attending #ingoophealth was an experience like no other. A day I was very grateful to add to my memory bank. If nothing more, I ingested new perspectives and a renewed mindfulness for self-care. (Free swag is a nice bonus!)

Would you pay to go to #ingoophealth?
