Did you see it?! We went viral with this DIY toddler shopping cart steering wheel that my husband Lockie made for our 3-year-old, Lennox.
We were struggling with shopping trips and at Target in particular. Somehow (ahem, Lockie) Lennox thought that every time we went to Target he got to pick out a new toy car from the toy aisle. We have a big car obsession going on at the moment. So each trip turned into a power struggle with Lennox over the toy aisle. Lockie had the genius idea to turn the shopping cart into a race car with a steering wheel to make shopping more fun…and distract from the toy aisle. SPOILER: IT WORKED
As you may have seen, I posted this video social media of us using the detachable shopping cart steering wheel while at our local Super Target. Every time we use it, we get LOTS of comments from parents and shoppers who want one for their kids. So it shouldn’t have been a surprise that the internet had a similar reaction. Ya’ll went NUTs!
So we thought, why not? We’re gonna do it…maybe. We’re gonna see how much consumer interest we get in buying this detachable shopping cart steering wheel.
