The 1st video on YouTube?!

Nuts that YouTube co-founders claim THIS video above to be the first video ever uploaded to YouTube!

However, I think it’s quite fitting: it’s low qual, features animals, about a specific topic, and shot vlog style. The video has over 30 million views but honestly I’m surprised it doesn’t have more.

I came across the video in a Tubefilter article where co-founder Steve Chen reiterated at SXSW recently that YouTube was original created as a dating site for users to upload video introductions of themselves.

What’s even more interesting is the three creators (Steve Hurley, Jawed Karim and Steve Chen) registered the name on February 14, 2005. Valentine’s Day. Lolz.

Jawed was the one who posted this epic first YouTube video, ever.

Definitely time to go back to the Zoo guys.
