Best Online April Fools Day Pranks of 2016
Here’s a rundown of the best April Fool’s Day pranks around the Internet. And it happens to be Friday. Which is even better.
1- Lyft has introduced “Prank Mode” in LA, SF, and NYC from 11am-5pm today only. Totally free!
Request a Lyft for a friend nearby, plan your prank, tell your driver about it. And boom! You have an accomplice and sorta-getaway-car.
2- Gwen Stefani nails it. She posted this cryptic Instagram post of an ULTRASOUND writing, “It’s a girl- gx”. An obvious prank to those that may believe she could be pregnant with boyfriend Blake Shelton’s baby.
Well done, Gwen.
3- Aaron Carter is back on the music scene with a DIY music video and single called “Fool’s Gold”.
Oh wait… this one isn’t an April Fool’s joke! My bad. Aaron Carter is back.
4- Google’s at it again. As they do every year. But this time it’s been taken down due to backlash. The media giant created a “mic drop” button in its email service that allowed you to fire off a GIF of a Minion character from “Despicable Me” that would drop a mic and mute responses to the user’s email.
This allowed recipients to receive your email but you won’t ever hear anything back, hence it’s “muted”. The seemingly quirky feature backfired with users mad that Google is messing with their precious, precious email.
The “Mic Drop” button was apparently too easy to accidentally hit when “sending” an email, with folks complaining they LOST THEIR JOB over it. Woah, a little dramatic IMO.
5- Hamburger Helper brand impresses everyone with a legit rap album about food called “Watch The Stove”. And people are impressed.

6- Samsung UK did a solid effort with this tweet. A fake new phone ad that looks oddly, old.

From the Samsung website:
“Get back to basics with our original mobile phone, re-released for a limited time only. The Galaxy LTD is for those who yearn for the days when tweeting was for birds, clouds stored rain & phones were for, er…calls.”
7- Manpons. MANPONS! Thanks to WaterAid this hilarious fake add for Men tampons brings awareness to a global issue.
“Supercharged performance during your period” designed by NASA scientists. Lols.
Here’s the real reason for the ad: taps and toilets for all. And how you can help, sign their petition.
8- BMW designed shoes for toddlers to prevent them from falling over. K. Meet xDrive Baby Boots.

From Mirror:
“The boots have been created with a lightweight construction to enable increased flexibility and movement of the foot and extra support as well as an aerodynamic design to improve dynamic movement and mobility.”
9- YouTube premieres the feature you’ve all been dying for: SnoopaVision. The ability to watch ANY YouTube video in 360 with Snoop Dogg himself. But it won’t launch for decades to come.
